Friday Memes 11/11

Follow Friday is a weekly blog hop hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. This week's features are Mother Lode and The Book Nympho.

This week's question is...

In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran's Day, tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.

I have two cousins in the military, one in the Air Force and one in the Marines, and I'm very proud of them! Here's hoping all our servicemen and women stay safe, wherever they are.

Fictionally speaking, Gladiator is my favorite movie ever, so the clear winner is Maximus Decimus Meridius. There was a dream that was Rome...

TGIF is a meme hosted by Ginger at GReads.

This week's question is...

Love-Hate Relationship: which characters from a book do you love to hate?

My first thought here was Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter, of course. He's an obnoxious snot but not actually evil, so it's really quite easy to enjoy hating him!

I also love to hate the Goddess of Pain from Robin McKinley's Sunshine, who is a scary b*tch.

  1. Thanks to your cousins for serving in our military!!

  13. happy vet's day! say thanks to your cousins!

I follow you here! will you stop by my blog?! I'm hosting a cover craze for an author! :)

  14. Some people have friends and/or family who served or who is serving in the military. Other people aren’t really keen on the long-standing war and really have no answer at all.

As for me? I don’t know anyone who is serving or who has served so I decided to go with what I want and chose a fictional soldier as an answer. The thing is, I had four prime candidates! I did eventually end up with one with a lengthy explanation. Care to know who it is? Follow me back to and find out!

In celebration of today’s cool date of 11/11/11 I’m offering a special $11 discount off all my interactive fiction books! Sure I’m a book blogger but I’m also an author. All the details of the $11 off on 11/11/11 is at the bottom of my Follow Friday blog post.

Since I’m posting this kind of late just add 'FF’ to the coupon code and it’ll be valid all weekend long!

    Thank God it’s Follow Friday!

I love your comments! I try to respond to them...eventually!

This is now an award-free blog. I love and totally appreciate that you thought of me, but I know myself better than to think I would be organized enough to pass them along, and that doesn't seem fair.

Finally, if you're posting a URL, the code to make it actually link to your site is <.a href="your URL">your text<./a>, without the periods.
