Top Ten Books I'd Hand to Someone Who Says They Don't Like to Read

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted weekly by the lovely ladies at The Broke and The Bookish.

This week's topic also known as ten of my favorite books. Alphabetical by author.

Gayle Forman

Gripping, emotional, unputdownable: all of these apply to this amazing YA contemporary about a girl who must choose the course of her life.

Neil Gaiman

Mythology in the modern world: a little tragic, a little philosophical, and a lot fascinating, American Gods is surprisingly absorbing, filled with many different stories that flow together to form one novel.

Robert Kroese

The Apocalypse is only a minor hindrance for lovable rogue angel Mercury and reporter Christine Temetri, who must take on the angelic bureaucracy to save the world in this brilliant and witty comedy.

Scott Lynch

Funny and intense, this story of a con artist who gets further into politics than he bargained for is one of my personal favorites.

Robin McKinley

No sparkling here – the vampires in Sunshine are deadly, and no one escapes them – no one until Sunshine, that is. As she discovers her particular abilities, Sunshine stumbles into a mission to wipe out a master vampire, in a book I've read so many times it's near to falling apart.

Karen Marie Moning

Fever is the most addictive series I've ever seen, with a cast of dark and fascinating characters and a fast-paced, compelling plot. A must-read for anyone who wants to be swept up in a book.

Veronica Roth

This gripping dystopian story has society divided into factions. Fast-paced and thrilling, Divergent is impossible to put down.

Patrick Rothfuss

Patrick Rothfuss weaves subtle humor into this complex and brilliant fantasy. With spectacular characters and a uniquely scientific brand of magic, The Name of the Wind is a major hit.

J.K. Rowling

It's Harry Potter. Need I say more?

Maggie Stiefvater

With beautiful writing, Maggie Stiefvater creates a unique werewolf story and fascinating characters with depth.

    1. You do! It's amazing, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like most contemporary novels.

  3. Yessss to another If I Stay! I had to have that on my list too. I keep hearing about Shiver (and the rest of the series) but never get around to reading it - though I read Scorpio Races this year and LOVED it, so I think I'm definitely going to make an effort for Shiver!

I love your comments! I try to respond to them...eventually!

This is now an award-free blog. I love and totally appreciate that you thought of me, but I know myself better than to think I would be organized enough to pass them along, and that doesn't seem fair.
